Retz

Founded in 1975, Retz is a standard-setter in the field of pedagogical innovation and educational assistance. Its catalogue comprises 480 titles (70 new releases annually) in three categories:

> Educational methods for primary school (ages 3-10), including two major series, "J'apprends les maths" (ages 5-10, translated into English, Spanish, Basque and Breton) and "Mika" (a reading programme for ages 5-7), as well as a new series for developing proficiency in French, "Mon manuel de français", and a series of learning activities in kit form called "Les Ateliers Retz";

> Pedagogical works: 13 series for teachers, ranging from ready-to-use classroom tools to theoretical works, and including theatre for schools, a field in which Retz is the leading French publisher;

> Scholastic aids, remedial education and individual development: series of scholastic aids for 3- to 12-year-olds and series for teenagers and adults (training and self-training, personal development, bibliotherapy).

Retz continued to grow in 2004 owing to the excellent performance of its backlist and in particular to the launch of its new series of textbooks "Mon manuel de français" and, in the pedagogical category, the active pursuit of its "Atouts littérature" series, produced in partnership with other Group imprints (Pocket Jeunesse, Syros and Seghers).
