Perrin, founded in 1884, specializes in historical works and publishes reference books, historical overviews, biographies and essays on political, military, cultural and social history. It has no hesitation about publishing controversial authors and addressing hot topics in the news. Its successes include Le Soleil noir de la puissance by Dominique  de Villepin, Voltaire by Pierre Milza, La spectaculaire histoire des rois des belges by Patrick Roegiers, Le roman vrai de la crise financière by Jean-Marc Sylvestre and Olivier Pastré, or La Chine m’inquiète by Jean-Luc Domenach. In 2002, Perrin launched a mass-market paperback series, “Tempus”, which publishes 25 titles a year.

Books to build humanity” is the editorial line adopted by Presses de la Renaissance. This general publisher focuses on works dealing with the quest for meaning and the soul-searching questions of humanity today. Its aim is to provide a broad readership with works selected for the quality of their content and the personalities of their authors: the Dalai Lama, Régis Debray, Marc Fumaroli, General Philippe Morillon, Tim Guénard, etc.
